Oceano Dunes is California's only motor vehicle beach access, making it the ideal location for off-roading. If visiting in the winter months, be sure to visit the Monarch Butterfly Grove. Open late October through February, the grove is filled with thousands of colorful Monarch Butterflies that annually flock to the limbs of eucalyptus trees to seek refuge from the cold of winter.
